Imagine Doing Your Wedding Photos and Suddenly Mohamed Salah Stops By

Mohamed Salah is footballing royalty on Merseyside, where he leads Arne Slot’s Liverpool, but also back in his homeland of Egypt. Currently on international duty, Salah recently captained his side to an impressive 3-0 victory against Cape Verde in their opening AFCON qualification game.

During this international break, the Egyptian king also found time to repeat an event he’s become well-known for—gatecrashing a wedding photoshoot.

Salah has a habit of surprising newlyweds while representing Egypt, and this time, the moment unfolded as the couple posed for their official photos at the entrance of the same hotel where the national team was staying.

While the bride and groom were all glammed up for their big day, Salah, looking as though he’d just wrapped up a training session, graciously jumped into the frame, much to their delight.

In the photo, the groom smiles with joy—as he appears to be the Liverpool fan of the two, thrilled at the chance to have Salah in his wedding pictures.

Fans couldn’t help but notice something a bit eerie: the bride, in both photos, appears strikingly still, not even blinking, which sparked some lighthearted comments online. But the bride’s stillness aside, the encounter itself became a cherished memory for the newlyweds.

This wasn’t Salah’s first time joining a wedding party unannounced. His history of photobombing newlyweds stretches back years, making it something of a tradition for the winger when he’s on duty with Egypt.

One particularly memorable instance occurred in 2020 when Salah, despite testing positive for COVID-19 and being confined to self-isolation in his hotel room, still managed to make it into a couple’s wedding photos.

During that incident, a pair of newlyweds, celebrating at the same hotel where Salah was quarantined, were surprised to see the Liverpool star standing on his hotel balcony. From two floors above, Salah, ever the fan favorite, smiled and posed for a series of photos with the couple from his isolation bubble.

Two years ago, Salah struck again, this time at the Residence Hotel in Alexandria.

In the video that circulated, the couple spotted Salah and likely requested him to join their wedding photos. Being the gentleman he is, Salah gladly obliged, running over in full Egypt kit and Puma running shoes, seemingly on his way to the gym, but detouring to become part of their wedding album.

The video from this latest gatecrash shows Salah exchanging a quick joke with the couple, saying in Arabic, “Don’t post the photo now, okay?” His playful sense of humor and down to earth personality shone through once again.

Over the years, Salah has provided these spontaneous, unforgettable moments for several couples in Egypt. It’s clear that the formula for getting Salah to be part of your wedding photos has been cracked: get married during an international break and stay in the same hotel as the Egyptian winger.

Even while leading Egypt to victory on the international stage, Salah continues to take time for those special, off-the-pitch moments that fans will remember forever.
