It was yet another frustrating evening for Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool faced a second consecutive defeat in the space of 4 days.
Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat at Wolves meant that their run in the FA Cup ended as soon as it began and to add to their woes, they lost yet another centre-back to injury as Dejan Lovren pulled his hamstring within the first 10 minutes of kick off.
Klopp fielded a weaker side, resting his big guns and saw his team fall further behind due to the injury.
However, there was one very bright silver lining for Klopp as the game saw the debut of Ki-Jana Hoever, who at 16 years old, became the club’s youngest player ever to play in the FA Cup.
Bought in from Ajax’s academy, Hoever had a good outing against a full strength Wolves and had one of the moments of the game where he won back the ball in his own box to set up a counter attack.
After being nearly beaten by Helder Costa, Hoever recovered to win back the possession and went on a run to beat 2 men before sliding the ball through to Shaqiri and set up a counter attack.
