Many fans went raving on social media about the shirt. Some supporters did not shy away from saying that it was ‘one of the best kits in Liverpool’s history’.

Many claimed that the shirt went out of stock even before they received news of its arrival.

It went out of stock in a flash and people weren’t happy about it. New Balance were criticized on several fronts. They were accused of not anticipating Liverpool’s fan base growth.

Their stocks were too few to cater to most fans who were left fuming. Many fans who wanted to get their hands on the gear were left disappointed. All things considered, New Balance may have hit the right nerve , but they’ve left fans high and dry!

This release comes amidst rumours that Liverpool are looking for new kit sponsors

Word around the campfire is that Liverpool are eyeing a mammoth deal with Nike. Manchester United currently holds the biggest kit sponsorship contract in the Premier League with Adidas, for a purported 750 million pounds. Liverpool is looking to ink a bigger deal with rival company Nike that will overshadow Adidas and United’s current deal.

New Balance’s current deal will expire at the end of next season and Liverpool are looking towards newer horizons. However, with fans appreciating NB’s work and with NB posting record stock clearances, the management is sure to be in a dilemma.

  1. Unlike Nike and Adidassponsored teams, Liverpool have zero exposure in South Korea as New Balance don’t stock ANY Liverpool items in their many stores. All LFC items in Korea are only available through the online store. The sooner we get a new sponsor (Nike or Adidas) the better for LFC!
