Since ending their season on a high by winning the Europa League, things have been slowly going down for Chelsea.
The future at Chelsea looks bleak at the moment. They’ve lost their best player, their manager, and have an ongoing transfer ban to deal with.
While the fans are hoping for the club to get back on track as soon as possible, watching Ross Barkley as the face of Chelsea in a promotional poster released by Sky Sports isn’t really helping their cause.
Barkley had an ordinary season with 5 goals and 6 assists in 48 appearances with Chelsea last season and is nowhere near to be the ‘face of the club’ yet.
While fan favourite N’Golo Kante or new signing Christian Pulisic would’ve been better received by fans there are far bigger problems for both fans and the Chelsea management to worry about.
There’s no doubt about the impact of a player like Eden Hazard leaving, but it is the departure of manager Maurizio Sarri that further escalates their problems.
Sarri didn’t exactly win over the Chelsea fanbase particularly with the decision to play N’Golo Kante out of position favoring his marquee signing Jorginho throughout the season.
His rapport with the players too was under constant scrutiny (for instance the horrific “misunderstanding” with Kepa in the EFL Cup final) which is why he left immediately when Juventus came knocking.
But guess what, this isn’t the end of their problems. They have a transfer ban till the summer of 2020 imposed by FIFA and youngsters Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are likely to miss the early part of the next season.
Only time will tell us what transpires at Chelsea but the next few months are definitely going to be critical for them.

Kovacic is not good enough no end product whatsoever, Madrid are trying to get rid of him. Our young players bring much more value to the team, his a waste of money.
Worst fears has been confirmed. Not making kovacis dealing a permanent one is going to hurt Chelsea next season. Eleven players of Barkley level will only guarantee any team relegation. We don’t need the young man in a team of Chelsea caliber simple.
Still believe that a midfield made up of kante, jonigho, nd kovacic is a world beater. place kante side by side with jonigho and allow kovacic to roam the middle, you gotten yourself a team as good as man city. Lets us not be sentimental, sarri already told us that he prefers him as an alternative to jonigho. That speaks volume of him. The young chaps you are clamoring for will need more years to grow and play the man city type of game. Unless we are talking of the usual kick and follow english game.
Sarri leaving hasn’t made things worse, his leaving (and the possibility) of Lampard taking over will galvanise the fans. Hazard will obviously be a great loss and is irreplaceable but if Frank or whoever else uses the brilliant young players who have been Europe’s top team for many years alongside the more experienced players then the doom and gloom merchants could well end up earning their words.
