Arsenal fans were fuming at the start of the summer transfer window when bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur spent £65 million on Tanguy Ndombele which was £25 million more than Arsenal’s reported £40 million transfer budget.
Many in the footballing world saw the move as a sign which showed that Spurs are finally taking over the mantle as the bigger club in North London.
But it looks like the Gunners weren’t being inactive but waiting for the right opportunity to pounce, and pounce they did!
The club confirmed not one but two deals after acquiring the services of William Saliba and Dani Ceballos.
While Saliba will move back to his parent club on a 1-year loan, Ceballos will look to make Aaron Ramsey’s number 8 shirt his own during his stay in London with a move to make his loan permanent being strongly mooted for the next summer.
The 22-year-old is highly rated in Spain and Gooners fans are barely able to contain their excitement over his signing especially after watching some of his exploits for the Spain U-21s.
The Real Madrid star pulled off a serpentine run from midfield, body feinting defenders left and right before nutmegging a defender to find a teammate in the box.
