Chelsea new boy Hakim Ziyech being hyped at the expense of Man Utd star Bruno Fernandes

Chelsea, Manchester United

The prospect of Hakim Ziyech’s arrival has already sent waves of excitement among the Blues as Chelsea left their fanbase flattered with the announcement of Moroccan’s signing back in February.

The 27-year-old is a creative genius in the attacking third. In his four seasons with Ajax, Ziyech produced 49 goals and 83 assists in 165 appearances and was instrumental in the club’s remarkable Champions League journey in the 18/19 season.

Branded as a ‘special player’ by former Ajax and United boss Louis Van Gaal, there are certainly no doubts remaining about the player’s calibre and would be a huge asset for Frank Lampard.

There’s still some considerable time we’d see the Moroccan donning the Chelsea blue at the Stamford Bridge despite the early termination of the Eredivisie season.

However, competitiveness has already kicked in amongst the Blues faithful as comparisons with fellow rival players pop up on the internet.

One of the perpetrators was businessman and renowned Chelsea supporter, Frank Khalid. He posted a tweet comparing Ziyech’s career figures with Manchester United ace Bruno Fernandes.

The latter has had a significant impact in Manchester and has been heavily involved in the attacking third, a role that Ziyech is expected to fulfil at Chelsea.

However, the Moroccan’s career stats seem to already better the Fernandes’, accounting to more G/A in comparatively less number of appearances.

Anticipation for the next season is huge, and whether the Ziyech can replicate his Eredivisie form in England remains to be seen.
