In this age of massive agent commissions, high player salaries and even higher transfer fees, clubs need strategic sponsorship deals that can help them meet these requirements.
Kit sponsorship deals play an important role in boosting a club’s financial power.
With Leeds United on track to regain promotion back to the top flight after a long wait of 16 years and their current kit deal with Kappa expiring in summer; rumours of a new deal with German giants Adidas began in January.
Their owner Andrea Radrizzani has backed the club fully since acquiring it in 2017 and this rumoured deal signals the ambitions he has for the club.
The deal with Adidas hasn’t been confirmed yet, but a tweet from owner Andrea Radrizzani has led Leeds United fans to believe that it might already be done.
Adidas recently retweeted Nike’s latest video in the fight against racism; and the Italian businessman showed his appreciation for this act of unity with an emoji-filled response.

While one Leeds fan demanded ‘ANNOUNCE NEW KIT’; another fan expressed his excitement ‘Already decided I’m buying all 3 kits’.
A third fan praised the Italian ‘#proud of your leadership of LUFC’ for his stance on this issue.
