Reports arrived last week that Chelsea had usurped Liverpool at the top of the queue for the signing of RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
Further confirmation of the German moving to London took place in Chelsea youngster Armando Broja’s Instagram live session today.
This comes on the back of RB Leipzig’s meme reply to a Chelsea fan on Twitter.
When asked about Werner, the England-born Albanian origin forward said that, “I think he’s a really good player. He’s really fast, strong and can score a lot of goals. I’ve watched a lot of him on YouTube and he’s quite good, so it’s a good signing.”
Leipzig’s managing director Oliver Mintzlaff appeared to had cooled down the ramapant speculation saying that there is no formal agreement in place yet.
But a Chelsea player, albeit a youth one talking about how good a signing Werner would be for the club makes it seem like the deal has been made.
