Real Madrid opened up a seven point lead over Barcelona after beating Athletic Bilbao 1-0 on Sunday.
Captain Sergio Ramos scored the all-important penalty after Dani Garcia had brought down Marcelo inside the box.
Athletic Bilbao players and staff were left distraught as VAR awarded Real Madrid a penalty after the referee had initially ruled it out.
Zinedine Zidane’s side claimed their 7th win a row but it was the second time in as many matches that they were made to work hard to secure all 3 points.
The importance of the win was not lost on Casemiro, who was down on his knees praying as Ramos lined up to take the penalty.
Needless to say, Madrid fans absolutely loved the passion and devotion from their defensive midfielder –
