Rangers rounded off their pre-season friendlies with a 2-0 victory against newly promoted Championship side Coventry City. Steven Gerrard’s men registered four wins in four games, scoring ten goals without a reply.
The Ibrox club looks fired up for the upcoming season as they face Aberdeen next weekend on Matchday 1 of the Scottish Premiership. Former Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard would be looking to end Celtic’s dominance in the league in what would be his second full-season as Rangers boss.
The club friendlies saw the team register impressive wins against the likes of French sides Lyon and Nice, along with another convincing performance against Coventry.
Although it took a second-half surge against the Sky Blues to ensure a win, many in the Rangers side left a good impression on the fans.
The Gers faithful, however, singled out midfielder Ianis Hagi as he produced a mesmeric performance on the day. The 21-year-old was unlucky not to get a goal of his own, but his presence was thoroughly felt during his time on the pitch.
The Romanian almost scored an outrageous effort from his own half and showed immense determination in the attack with his silky feet and trickery on the ball.
An outstanding example of his abilities came on in the 55th minute of the game when he played a terrific no-look pass to set-up teammate Alfredo Morelos, who failed to convert in front of the goal.

The fans are counting on Hagi’s potential to pay dividends in the upcoming season as Rangers look to dethrone Celtic from the Premiership title.
