Liverpool’s pre-season training is underway as the players, coaches and staff members met in Austria for a training camp to prepare for the upcoming season.

The Reds are currently based on the outskirts of Salzburg as Van Dijk and co step up preparations for the start of the 2020-21 season.

The Dutch defender recently showed off his goal scoring prowess with a well taken goal.

As he eagerly awaited for the ball from Milner, the first time finish into the left corner left Karius with absolutely no chance.

This is not the first time in his career that Van Dijk impressed with his calibre in front of goal. He was regarded as a fine set-piece taker during his time at Celtic and once he has even tried his hand at playing as a striker. The experience was ‘unforgettable’, in his own words. It happened when Virgil was trying to establish at Groningen having joined them from Willem II in 2010.

In addition, goalkeeper Alisson was seen practicing his skills as well. He faced numerous shots in the drill and pulled out some absolutely inhuman saves.

Alisson’s fine form and full fitness is an encouraging sign for the fans. They desperately missed him earlier this year when he suffered a knee injury in training in March and could only watch on as his side were eliminated from both the Champions League and FA Cup in quick succession.

The two ‘rocks’ of Liverpool have been an integral part of the club’s success over the past two seasons. Their promising pre-season form is a step in the right direction and they’d be keen to repeat the same come next season.
