Marcos Senesi produces genuine Puskas contender with a dipping bicycle kick goal against ADO Den Haag

ADO Den Haag, Eredivisie, Feyenoord, Marcos Senesi

The Dutch Eredivisie has now produced a very early, but genuine contender for the Puskas Award for this season with Feyenoord’s Marcos Senesi scoring a sensational bicycle kick goal against ADO Den Haag.

The Argentine lit up the De Kuip stadium with a magnificent effort to propel his team into the lead, in a match the Rotterdam side went on to win 4-2.

As Feyenoord were awarded a corner in the 57th minute, it was cleared off the near post by a defender: only for it to fall to Senesi in the box, who displayed extraordinary technique and skill to send the ball into the top right corner of the goal.

Though the ball travelled almost in slow motion to end up in the back of the net: ADO Den Haag goalkeeper Luuk Koopmans stood still as he had no chance of getting anywhere close to the effort, awestruck at the centre-back’s proficiency in the opponent’s penalty area.

Feyenoord now stand at third position in the Eredivisie with 7 points from 3 games, only behind AFC Ajax and SC Heerenveen, while their unfortunate opponents on the night are stagnant in the 16th position: yet to win a point from the three games played so far.

The 23-year-old scored an extraordinary goal which will be drafted into the Eredivisie history books for sure, and end up as a genuine contender for the best goal of the season: not only in the Dutch first division but across all leagues in the world.
