Liverpool didn’t look like a team who were missing close to 8 starters as the Reds dominated Leicester City at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s side stretched their juggernaut unbeaten run at home to 64 games with a comfortable 3-0 win against the Foxes.
Liverpool drew first blood when Jonny Evans strangely put the ball at the back of his own net in the first half.
Diogo Jota doubled the lead 4 minutes from half-time courtesy of a bullet header and Roberto Firmino added a late third goal to complete the rout.
The makeshift centre-back duo of Joel Matip and Fabinho were at ease throughout – part of it due to the work done by Gini Wijnaldum, Curtis Jones and Naby Keita in the middle.
The two number 8s (Keita and Jones) on the field for Liverpool had an impressive outing, duly summed up this passage of play in the first half.
With Leicester looking to counter in the 31st minute, it took an excellent tackle from Curtis Jones to first dispossess Vardy.
Naby Keita then got on the act as he evaded the press from Leicester masterfully to send Sadio through.
