Jamie Vardy wouldn’t have minded he was shown a yellow card after scoring a 90th-minute match-winning goal against Sheffield United.
Boyhood Sheffield Wednesday fan, Vardy deprived Chris Wilder’s side from picking up their second point of the season after he pounced upon a sumptuous through ball from James Maddison and curled a lovely shot past a diving Aaron Ramsdale to clinch all 3 points for Leicester City
As good as the goal was, there is nothing more iconic than the events that occurred soon after it.
The passion and the buzz of scoring the winner against the team he hates more than any other showed in abundance as Vardy unleashed a furious knee-slide and destroyed the corner flag in the process.
