It was a battle of two of the biggest attacking talents in the Premier League as a Jack Grealish-led Aston Villa hosted Wilfried Zaha’s Crystal Palace.
Both the stars on show had a great outing but it was the Crystal Palace winger who first left a mark in the game as his trickery with the foot forced Aston Villa to play the second half with just 10 men after Tyrone Mings was given his marching orders by the referee.
Villa boss Dean Smith was force to make changes to his system as he replaced Bertrand Traore with Ezri Konsa to shore up the defence.
Despite playing with a man down, the Birmingham-based outfit went on to take charge in the second half and won the game 3-0 at Villa Park.
Considering the standards he has set this season, Jack Grealish had a pretty quiet evening but still managed to bamboozle everyone watching as he produced a sumptuous reverse through pass for Ollie Watkins late in the game.
As much as Grealish deserves the credit for the pass, Ollie Watkins’ vision and anticipation should also be acknowledged here as it was his movement that creates the chance in the first place.
