With the advent of the new year, the winter transfer window is upon us. While some transfer deals are expected, some certainly aren’t.
A recent instance of the latter is Madelene Wright, formerly of Charlton Athletic fame, who has had quite the transition in life after being sacked by her ex-employers in December last year.
Wright now has an account on OnlyFans: a web service for the paid promotion of web content, and an app that grew in popularity over the year that went by.
Wright, 22, was released by Charlton Athletic after a drunk driving scandal. Some videos from her Snapchat were leaked online, which included the footballer inhaling balloons at a party, and downing champagne at the wheel of her luxury Range Rover.
Charlton Athletic sacked Wright when she had spent just close to a year at the club, having joined from Millwall in January 2020. Charlton terminated Wright’s contract and removed her profile from the roster in the club’s official website.
It was not the first time that Wright had engaged in off-field controversy as well. The star had previously been investigated by her former club Millwall after she filmed a friend holding a dog with its paws on the steering wheel while they were driving along a residential road.
It is certain to be quite a transition for the presently unemployed footballer’s day to day life, as she will look to swap her daily team training routines for more time on her social media platforms for the time being.
Still only 22, Wright may indeed go on to represent a club some time in the near future, but it looks like her hiatus from the sport might be extended due to her brand new online venture.
