Tanguy Ndomebele performed the skill of the weekend as Tottenham Hotspur put the discouraging Europa League exit behind to beat Aston Villa 2-0 in a Premier League fixture last night.
Jose Mourinho made a host of changes from the side that failed to accomplish the all-important job against Dinamo Zagreb in midweek with Joe Rodon, Japhet Tanganga, Giovani Lo Celso and Carlos Vinicius making rare appearances under the Portuguese.
Spurs perhaps weren’t at their best but still managed to secure a favourable result thanks to a first-half tap-in from Carlos Vinicius and a second-half penalty from Harry Kane.
As Spurs looked to gain further control in the game after taking a lead in the 29th minute, Tanguy Ndombele showed a glimpse of his unreal ball retention skills.
The Frenchman managed to sneak the ball – while put under pressure by 3 Aston Villa players – with masterful expertise as he danced around them with flair and pulled off a disguised line-breaking pass forward towards Harry Kane.
It is hard to describe the skill of the former Lyon man as he always looks like he is on the verge of losing the ball but he’s so tactically aware that he rarely ever loses it –
