Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea transfer rumours hit overdrive after Didier Drogba exchange

Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea fans noticed a cryptic exchange between Didier Drogba and Romelu Lukaku on Instagram following the World Cup qualifier match between Belgium and the Czech Republic.

The Ivorian had seemingly put up a story that featured a photo of the Belgian after his goalscoring display last night. The story also featured the word ‘hum’ written on it.

Quite interestingly, Lukaku responded to the story with a story of his own as he wrote – ‘we workin’.

What has piqued interest among the Blues supporters is the fact that the exchange coincides perfectly with the latest Chelsea transfer development.

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are now considering a move for Romelu Lukaku because of the competition surrounding their number one target Erling Haaland.

The Borussia Dortmund striker is one of the most in-demand football players in the transfer market at the moment with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Barcelona – along with Chelsea – vying for his signature.

The Bundesliga club slapping a 180 million Euros transfer valuation on the Norwegian has not helped Chelsea’s cause either.

It’s hard to decipher what the exchange between Drogba and Lukaku means at this point. Though, the Belgian does have unfinished business at Chelsea after his first outing at the club was met with an abrupt end when he was sold by Jose Mourinho back in 2014.

Safe to say the Instagram exchange has got the fans buzzing on Twitter, check out the reactions below –
