It was an extraordinary end to the game between Manchester United and Villarreal at Gdansk as the Europa League final went to 10-10 on penalties with every outfield player finding the back of the net.
In a penalty shootout that appeared everlasting as it went along, the final was decided when the two goalkeepers came face-to-face to score against each other at Stadion Miejski.
Villarreal goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli took all the glory home as he slotted past David de Gea and then saved the Man United goalkeeper’s shot to win the Yellow Submarine’s first major trophy in their history.
