Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka silenced anyone doubting his selection for the Euro 2020 squad as he scored his first international goal for England during a 1-0 win against Austria at the Riverside Stadium.
Harry Kane opened up the Austrian defence with a pass to Jesse Lingard, who rolled the ball out for Jack Grealish but Aleksandar Dragovic’s challenge diverted it into the path of Bukayo Saka, who fired home from a tight angle.
It has been an eventful 12 months for the 19-year-old as he signed a long-term contract with the Gunners, scored his first Premier League goal, won an FA Cup and also the Community Shield, earned his first England call-up and now, scored his first England goal.
His terrific work throughout last season has now seen him nominated for the PL YPOTY award along with Arsenal’s POTY award.
