Amad Diallo came clutch when it mattered the most after he scored a freekick deep in added time as Ivory Coast came from a goal down to beat Burkina Faso 2-1 at the Stade Olympique d’Ebimpe in northern Abidjan.
With the home side trailing by a goal, the Manchester United forward made only his second senior appearance for his national side when he was substituted in during the second half.
The Ivorians soon equalised and the score remained 1-1 until the 18-year-old stepped on to take a 97th-minute freekick. Despite it being a friendly, the pressure was high as it was possibly the last kick of the game.
But Diallo was composed in his manner as he showed his freekick taking prowess with a left-footed strike from just outside the box to win his side the game.
