Lionel Messi was denied a free-kick by a world-class save from Claudio Bravo during the World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Chile a little more than a week ago.
But the Barcelona legend got the better of his former Blaugrana teammate with a copycat free-kick, placed at the same area of the net during the Copa America fixture last night.
The goal also meant that Messi (57) has now scored more direct free-kicks than fellow GOAT contender Cristiano Ronaldo (56).
Argentina opened their account in the competition in a stunning manner when the 33-year-old whipped in a superb free-kick beyond Claudio Bravo after Giovani Lo Celso was brought down by Erick Pulgar.
Though, despite the heroics from their talisman, it was the same old story for the Albiceleste as they could only muster up a draw in their Group B clash at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Stadium.
