Argentina made light work of 81st-ranked Bolivia as it turned out to be an eventful outing for Lionel Messi during the 4-1 win at Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba.
The Barcelona legend showed no mercy during his record-breaking 148th appearance for Argentina as he scored two goals and provided a superhuman assist to start the rout.
It was only the sixth minute of the game when La Pulga started pulling the strings with a reverse chipped assist for Papu Gomez to smash it past Carlos Lampe in Bolivia goal.
The 34-year-old superstar, who was stood with his back towards the two Bolivian defenders, proceeded to chip them with a pass in a completely different direction and sent Papu Gomez through on goal.
