Andreas Pereira scored one of the goals of the pre-season so far when he connected with an excellent volley from all of thirty yards last night.
Manchester United were up against newly-promoted Brentford in a pre-season friendly at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils went ahead courtesy of an Anthony Elanga strike, but Brentford drew themselves level via Shandon Baptiste in the first half.
As the second half began, United grabbed hold of the contest and soon made their superiority show with a brilliant strike from outside the box by midfielder Andreas Pereira.
It was Jesse Lingard whose shot drew a save from the Brentford goalkeeper as the loose ball fell right on Pereira’s path.
A confident Pereira took it in his stride and let loose of an absolute rocket from thirty yards that crashed off the crossbar into the goal, leaving the hapless goalkeeper no chance.
It was a show of incredible technique by the Brazilian who seemed to have channelled a prime Paul Scholes with his sensational strike from distance.
Pereira knee slid in front of the Old Trafford faithful, having scored a goal that would have taken the roof off the stadium if it was scored in a Premier League match.
Stop what you’re doing and admire this piece of magic 😱#MUFC @AndrinhoPereira
