Olivier Giroud got underway in his new challenge at AC Milan after he hit the ground running with a goal against Nice in a pre-season friendly.
It was a bullet header from a set-piece situation, a sight that Chelsea fans will be very familiar with – along with one other particular member of the current Milan squad.
Giroud joined former Chelsea defender and his ex-teammate Fikayo Tomori at Milan, and the Englishman was visibly delighted with Giroud’s first goal for Milan.
Giroud rose the tallest in the penalty area to head home the equalizer in the match from a free-kick situation, and registered his first goal for the club in his first appearance – and it is fair to say that every one of his teammates were delighted with him.
None more than them was Fikayo Tomori, who jumped on top of the delighted group celebrating the occasion – but it soon turned awkward for him as Alessio Romagnoli picked him up on his shoulders and Tomori was stuck on top of Romagnoli & Giroud for quite a bit of time.
When the rest of their teammates were dispersing, Tomori was still lodged on top of the Milan defender.
Despite the sheer awkwardness of the celebration on full display, Milan fans will be very excited to see the former Chelsea defender’s good form continue after the Serie A outfit bought him permanently ahead of the upcoming season – while their newest striker signing’s immediate goalscoring exploits will also excite the club faithful as they look to bring back the glory days to a club that has seen it all over the years.
Tomori ?? 😭😭😭
