Alphonso Davies has been transformed into one of the best left-backs in the world since his move to Bayern Munich in 2018.
While the Canadian joined as a left-winger, his elite recovery pace meant that he was converted into a left-back by coaches Niko Kovac and Hansi Flick – and he excelled in his new position particularly under the latter as Bayern won the Champions League title.
While Davies has undergone a change in his position in his three years in Bavaria, he has also gone through another unbelievable transformation in his physique.
Davies joined Bayern as a skinny teenager, but recent pictures of the Canadian in Bayern’s pre-season training has shown that he has put in some solid hours in the gym of late.
Davies, who was injured in Canada’s 2021 Gold Cup campaign has undergone a quick recovery and appeared at Bayern training this week – and to the surprise of the online football community, he looks shredded beyond belief.
It would still be an understatement to say that Davies looks to be in the best shape of his life ahead of the upcoming season, and his brand new physique has since gone viral on social media platforms to amaze football fans.
Though it is not the first time that we have seen Bayern players go through insane physical transformations – particularly Robert Lewandowski, Phillipe Coutinho and Leon Goretzka come to mind – it is definitely the most mind-boggling one out of them all.
The recent images of Davies beg the question that we have been asking since last season once again – what are they feeding the players at the Allianz Arena? Is it something in the water? I guess we’ll never find out.
Alphonso Davies is back from injury and looking stronger than ever!
