It was a pulsating atmosphere inside Celtic Park as the home side won 2-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League play-off against AZ Alkmaar.
With 12 minutes gone, new signing Kyogo Furuhashi found the back of the net once again with an acrobatic effort after Tom Rogic had crossed a beauty in the box from the left flank.
The Bhoys celebrated their fifth win in a row as James Forrest scored the second goal of the night just after the hour mark to put Celtic in a strong position going into the tie.
The Japanese forward has taken next to no time in settling down with the Glasgow-based side as this was his 6th goal in as many games for the Hoops.
Here’s how Twitter reacted –

6⃣ Games
6⃣ Goals
A goal scored every 60 minutes of football he’s played since joining Celtic.

Baffling that Kyogo was still playing in Japan at 26, and that no club in Europe had taken a punt on him. I’m so glad they didn’t.

Henrik comparisons abound
The kind of player we have missed at Celtic since Larsson but it is still early days, how he reacts to a more psychical game will show his worth.

I can’t think of any new signing that I would rate higher. Even our king of kings Henrik Larsson in his first season didn’t look as good as this new bhoy ❤️

“He absolutely has the talent to play in Europe. He’s got strong technique, and I believe he can succeed.” The words of no less an authority than Andres Iniesta, the legendary ex-Barcelona midfielder who played alongside Furuhashi at Vissel Kobe. pic.twitter.com/H5ifPIv8ze
