There are so many games for Liverpool to play, so many goals they can score, and so many great moments they can provide for their fans.
However, their opening game might just be the one they might be talking about come the end of the season.
Jordan Henderson’s wonder goal against AC Milan will go down in Anfield folklore as it was not only scoring at the perfect time, but it also got an entire stadium into a frenzy.
The match started with Liverpool on the attack, forcing AC Milan to concede an early goal. However, the Reds failed to double the lead as Mohamed Salah’s penalty was saved by Mike Maignan.
The game turned on its head before half-time as AC Milan took a 2-1 lead courtesy of goals from Ante Rebic and Brahim Diaz.
Salah made up for his missed penalty by scoring an equalizer just after the break to make it 2-2 and Jordan Henderson completed a classic European comeback with a sublime half-volley from 20 yards.

First Champions League goal for 2485 days
Jordan Henderson has not scored in the Champions League before tonight since AC Milan last played in the competition in 2014.

Superb technique
The technique from Jordan Henderson there was absolutely outrageous. He made that goal look effortless, and it certainly wasn’t. A big goal from a big-game player. Superb #UCL

World-class
Henderson is world class. If you don’t think so, you don’t know football. Still so underrated and forgotten about when people discuss the best midfielders in the best league in the world and in world football.

Stevie G comparisons abound
IS THAT JORDAN HENDERSON OR PRIME STEVEN GERRARD WHO SCORED THAT?
— Samue (@SamueILFC) September 15, 2021
I’m sure I heard Henderson scream “GERRARD” when he hit that!

Maybe even a better captain than Gerrard?
Unpopular opinion: Jordan Henderson is my favourite all time Liverpool Football Club Captain
