Twitter baffled as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes Tyson Fury analogy to explain Liverpool defeat

Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might not be as good with analogies as he thinks he is as the Manchester United manager was taken to town on social media for comparing the loss against Liverpool to boxer Tyson Fury getting knocked down.

The Manchester-based outfit suffered one of the worst defeats of their entire existence after they were completely played out of the park by bitter rivals Liverpool.

The Norwegian is under extreme pressure to keep his job as Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers becomes the latest name to get linked with the hot seat at Man United.

Solskjaer did his reputation among the fans no favour when he made a Tyson Fury analogy to explain the 5-0 loss last Sunday.

The 48-year-old was confronted with questions regarding the brutal defeat as he sat down to face the press before the game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Solskjaer reckoned his players should have taken time to reorganise after getting knocked down by the initial blows from Liverpool. Suggesting that United went all-out attack after each Jurgen Klopp’s side scored.

Safe to say, the analogy and the explanation has not gone down well on Twitter –
