Antonio Conte was unveiled as Spurs manager on Tuesday after the club sacked Nuno Espirito Santo only three months into the season.
Although his appointment was met with jubilation amongst the Lilywhites’ fanbase, their new manager was caught on social media accidentally showcasing his admiration for the club’s noisy neighbours, Arsenal.
Amidst the vast archive of welcome posts reposted by the Italian’s official Instagram account, Twitter caught on a peculiar story wherein the user reposted a “good luck” post along with audio comprising an Arsenal chant.
Conte’s social media activity featuring the chant, which goes “And it’s Arsenal, Arsenal FC! We’re by far the greatest team. The world has ever seen…”, soon went viral across social media as both fan bases marvelled at its comical nature.
The story made for the second event of comical nature after the club’s official account misjudged Conte’s nationality while announcing his arrival on Twitter yesterday.
The Italian will be in charge of the club for the first time in the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday and return to the Premier League management against Everton on Saturday.
