Twitter reacts to Vinicius Junior’s ankle-breaking run from his own box against Rayo Vallecano

La Liga, Real Madrid, Vinicius Junior

There is no stopping Vinicius Jr. at Real Madrid at the moment. The Brazilian was instrumental on the pitch as Real Madrid secured a 2-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano to move two points clear at the top of La Liga.

Vinicius was, arguably, the most sensational performer of the evening as he played a vital role in the opening goal and followed it up by a jaw-dropping moment in the opening minutes of the second half.

After comfortably securing a two-goal lead at half-time, Real came out all guns blazing in the second half. Vinicius, in particular, was at the heart of a resplendent moment five minutes into the half, as he produced a mesmerizing series of dribbles; almost producing a fairy-tale finish to secure Real’s third goal of the evening.

With space to run into, having received the ball in his own box, the Brazilian made an incisive run across the pitch, snaking his way through a retreating Vallecano backline.

Faced by three centre-backs blocking his way into the penalty box, the winger produced a series of exhilarating ankle-breaking dribbles. Executed with unparalleled perfection, Vinicius skipped past the first defender; leaving him dead on his feet, spellbound the second with his tricky footwork, and got the better of the keeper, only for his shot to be cleared just meters from the goal-line by a covering defender.

Needless today, Twitter was truly amazed at Vinicius’ exploits –
