PSG’s game against Saint Etienne was a notable one as fans were treated to the first appearance of Sergio Ramos for the Parisiens.
The game ended in 3-1 victory for PSG, thanks to a brace from Marquinhos and a goal from Di Maria.
It wasn’t pure delight for the Parisiens however, they ended up losing Brazillian Superstar Neymar to a horrific ankle injury.
In the final minutes of the game, Neymar received a sliding tackle from Yvann Macon, while the tackle itself wasn’t the culprit, it was while evading the challenge that Neymar got caught.
He seemed to tread on Macon’s leg and in the process twisted his ankle in a terrible manner. Instantly after the challenge, Neymar collapsed on the floor in full flight.
The Brazillian was in clear agony as he writhed on the floor in pain. His teammates soon surrounded him looking visibly concerned as the medical staff rushed onto the field to treat Neymar.
The Number 10 was clearly in no condition to continue and ended up having to leave to pitch on a stretcher, understandably in tears.

Neymar was spotted leaving on crutches after the game and when asked about the severity of his injury during the post-match press conference, PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino said, “For the moment there is nothing to say. He felt pain from the twist of his ankle. Tomorrow, he will take exams and we will know a little more about his injury.”
Neymar later took to Instagram and posted a message conveying hope and determination. He said, “Unfortunately, these setbacks are a part of an athlete’s life. Now you have to raise your head and move on. I will come back better and stronger.”
