Back in October, Egyptian star Mo Salah was spotted in a bright blue sweatshirt in Liverpool city centre while filming for a new Pepsi advertisement.
Just days before Liverpool’s match at Old Trafford, wherein the winger scored a hat-trick, Salah was involved in the shoot, running through the streets of Liverpool while being chased by a crowd of extras.
Pepsi has finally released and shared the advert on YouTube and other similar media platforms, and the response has been tremendous, to say the least.
The advertisement shows Salah, played by various actors, growing up from being a toddler to a teen, running throughout the video while a cover version of the Rolling Stones song ‘I Can’t Get No Satisfaction’ plays in the background.
The video culminates with the real Salah running again through the streets of Liverpool with dozens of fans chasing him in what appears to be a homage to Forrest Gump.
Reacting to the video, some fans commented: “Run, Mo, Run!”
The comment was made in reference to the literal quote from the movie wherein the titular character, played by Tom Hanks, is asked to run from bullies.

The advert video featuring Salah was released just days after he finished seventh in the Ballon d’Or ranking.
The Liverpool winger has been in sublime form this season, having amassed 13 goals and 8 assists so far in all competitions. He netted a brace on Wednesday’s night romping of Everton at Goodison, which ended 4-1 in favour of the Reds.
