Liverpool fans introduce new song for Diogo Jota sung to the Torres bounce chant

Diogo Jota, Liverpool

Diogo Jota returned to his old stomping grounds last night as Liverpool faced off against Wolves at the Molineux Stadium.

The 24-year-old is in excellent goalscoring form and found the net nine times this season for Liverpool. Unfortunately, in a moment that was truly unlike Jota, he ended up producing a huge let-off for his former employers.

The Portuguese forward rarely makes a mistake in front of the goal but he somehow managed to fluff as an absolute sitter, striking the ball straight at Conor Coady who stood right in the middle of the goal.

Taking nothing away from the block itself, Jota had an empty net to aim at except the middle, yet he clearly lost a bit of composure and struck it straight towards the Wolves captain.

The clip has been going viral on the Internet with many calling it a miss of the season contender.

A moment for misfortune certainly hasn’t decreased his adoration among the Reds faithful who unveiled a new chant for their number 20.

The song itself seems to be a rendition of the “Liverpool’s Number Nine” chant which was sung in the praises of former striker Fernando Torres.

The lyrics feature slight tweaks to better fit the Portuguese forward.
