Ruben Dias has been a revelation ever since joining Manchester City from Benfica for a reported 68 million Euros.
Exemplifying the meaning of money well spent, the Portuguese centre-back has been pivotal to the Cityzens ever since his arrival and shows no signs of stopping.
Dias has already established himself as a fan-favourite and it would be fair to say that the centre-back is entitled to his own chant.
Well, yesterday at the game against Watford, City fans delivered on that claim as they debuted a new chant in honour of their number 3.
The lyrics of the song make references to his move from Benfica, his cup double with City last year, and his understandable distaste for arch-rivals Manchester United.
City fans were in full voice throughout the game, making sure their adoration for Dias came to his attention. The final 10 minutes of the match in particular featured multiple encores of the brand new song.
The lyrics are –
“Ruben Dias, our number 3
He left Benfica
To come to City
He’s won the cup
He’s won the league
He hates united
And he loves City”
