Watch: Richarlison mocks linesman by raising an invisible flag

Everton, Richarlison

In their latest outing against Arsenal at Goodison, Everton’s Richarlison found the back of the net not once, but thrice. Even so, the Brazilian’s ‘hat-trick’ wasn’t to be, as VAR disallowed two of his previous attempts on the night.

Although Demarai Gray’s injury-time winner made headlines the most, it was Richarlison’s brilliant performance throughout the match that provided Everton with the spark.

Twice Richarlison strayed offside by millimetres and twice the VAR denied him his goals, much to the bafflement and annoyance of home supporters.

The Brazilian did eventually get what could’ve been his hat-trick goal, heading home a rebound against the bar to drag the Toffees back into the game.

The celebrations that followed the equalizer, suffice to say, were very Richarlison-esque.

Running back to the centre circle, the 24-year-old raised his hand to the linesman in an apparent mocking gesture, as if daring him to raise his flag again.

What made the incident even funnier is that it wasn’t even the linesman who ruled out the goals by raising his flag, it was VAR. Check out the incident below –
