Jonathan David has been setting the Ligue 1 alight with some incredible performances this season, topping the goalscoring charts with 12 goals, ahead of the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Wissam Ben Yedder.
With David’s agent disclosing his intentions to leave Lille at the end of this season, the Canadian international has attracted widespread interest from near and far, including Premier League outfit Arsenal.
And though speculations remain rife regarding his next destination, new images of the 21-year-old striker have emerged online that have sent Gooners into a frenzy.
Spotted at an airport, David was pictured wearing an overcoat with a Thierry Henry shirt underneath. Black in colour, the shirt had Henry’s name printed in bold letters with a picture of the French legend in his iconic celebration pose to accompany.

No sooner did the image surface online did Gooners take to social media to express their thrill, with one particular fan on Reddit already claiming, “HE’S COMING IN THE SUMMER”.
Twitterati wasn’t far behind as another fan, while reacting to the picture, wrote, “That’s enough for me welcome to arsenal @JonathanDavid”.
Arsenal was reported to be interested in David while he was with Belgian outfit Gent before he decided to make the move towards France in Lille.
However, with the Canadian striker allegedly looking to make an away move, interests and rumours are already beginning to abound.
As more clubs join in the race to secure the striker’s service, Arsenal continues to remain a strong contender, considering how he had in the past professed his admiration for the club and Thierry Henry, in particular.
Moreover, with questions looming over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at Arsenal, the north London outfit just might really embolden their efforts to bring in the striker at Emirates.
