Dani Alves’ love for Barcelona is unquestionable.

Despite having attained all the major honours in European football, the legendary fullback offered to return to his beloved club in the recent turbulent times.

An offer that was graciously accepted by Barcelona, and the Brazilian signed as a free agent back in November.

While Culers are yet to see whether Alves can deliver on the high standards he set in the past due to a registration issue, his impact off the pitch is already visible.

Aside from his footballing ability, another pivotal reason for the re-signing is the leadership he brings.

The 38-year-old is well versed in the ways of the Blaugrana, having been a crucial part of the club’s decorated history.

Naturally, this grants him respect and acclaim amongst the current young crop of Barcelona players, who probably grew up watching the Brazilian in his prime.

And the importance of having a senior figure who youngsters can look up to is invaluable.

Going by this popular clip, it would seem that Barca’s young stars are indeed getting influenced by the Brazilian.

The clip features the Barcelona squad walking back to the tunnel after a training session.

Alves can be seen applauding the spectating fans but not before carefully stepping away from the Barcelona badge emblazoned on the floor.

The gesture of respect personifies Alves’ love for the club, and it was quickly replicated by La Masia product Nico.

Upon observing the Brazilian, Nico decided to do the same and walked across from the badge rather than stepping on it.

While minor in nature, the clip does outline the significance of having a role model in a locker room filled with young talents.
