Very few clubs in the world can boast of having a global outreach comparable to that of Arsenal Football Club.
The Gunners through their decorated history have amassed an enormous fan base, one which transcends geographical bounds.
The likes of Fidel Castro, JAY-Z, Idris Elba are all known to be Arsenal fans, even the Queen herself is rumoured to be a supporter of the Gunners.
However, the caveat to having such a vast fan following is the inclusion of certain rather undesirable individuals who have also climbed aboard the bandwagon.
One of these is the infamous terrorist Osama Bin Laden, and while everyone can unanimously agree on his notoriety, Arsenal fans also slot Piers Morgan alongside him due to the controversies which have surrounded the broadcaster.
Adding to that list, at least according to Gunners online, is the latest self-declaring Gooner, namely Priti Patel.
The Tory cabinet member took to Twitter to applaud the ‘No more Red’ campaign and then subsequently confessed her Arsenal fandom.
Reactions to this were less than enthusiastic, to say the least.
There was widespread disappointment amongst Gooners, owing largely to her controversial image in the footballing world.
The infamy came due to her comments on England players taking the knees during the Euros which she labelled as ‘gesture politics’.
A plethora of reactions flooded Twitter but shared the same sentiment, one of sheer disappointment.
Priti Patel announcing she's an Arsenal fan is the biggest L we've taken in a LONG time.

You’ve got to admire Priti Patel. It’s no small accomplishment to be considered Arsenal’s worst ‘celebrity’ supporter when those ranks contain Osama bin Laden and Piers Morgan.

Sad to hear Priti Patel claiming she's a fan of my beloved club, Arsenal but then I remembered Mussolini was Italian and that never stopped me from enjoying pasta.

Arsenal fans: “We’ve won 4 of the last 5 PL games, in top4, Saka & Martinelli are turning into superstars, club is proactive in the window. Happiest everyone around have in been in years.”

Priti Patel: “Hold on a minute, I’m an Arsenal fan.”
Cant stop wondering if there was ever a game at Highbury where in the crowd was a young Priti Patel, a phone tapping era Piers Morgan and Bin Laden taking some time away from plotting the end of the western world to enjoy some George Graham, 1-0 to the Arsenal football

Some even stated the announcement as ‘the lowest moment in the club’s history”. That statement alone should give you an idea of her reputation amongst the general populace.
