Who had Philippe Coutinho to Aston Villa on their bingo card? Definitely no one.

Well, such is the uncertain nature of the game we all love.

The Brazilian who joined Barcelona in 2018 for a whopping €160m fee, completed a loan move to Aston Villa yesterday.

Coutinho wasn’t able to recapture the impeccable form he showcased during his Liverpool stint in Spain.

Despite that, Villa’s signing of the Brazilian remains impressive and also shows their ambition.

A slight reshuffle was required at Villa Park due to their inability in finding a talisman after Jack Grealish’s departure to Manchester City.

The signing of Coutinho perhaps comes at the right time then, and Villa fans will be hoping that the midfielder can fill Grealish’s boots.

Nonetheless, the Claret and Blue Army are certainly excited by the prospect, something which is evident in this clip.

The popular clip features Villa fans gathered at Old Trafford during their FA Cup Tie against United singing their hearts out and unveiling a new chant for their latest signing.

Sung to the tune of ‘Wake me up before you Go-Go’ by iconic Pop Duo Wham!, the chant mainly centres around the rhyme of the chorus.

It showcases Villa fans’ fondness for Coutinho who hasn’t even made an appearance for Villa yet and also aims a dig at former number 10 Jack Grealish.

The lyrics are – “Wake me up before you go go. Who needs Grealish when you’ve got Coutinho!”

Coutinho will now look to impress his new fans and potentially make his debut in the upcoming fixture against Manchester United.
