The January transfer window was a busy one for relegation contenders, Burnley.
In terms of signings, manager Sean Dyche normally has to deal with scraps, not on this occasion, fortunately.
The departure of striker Chris Wood left a crucial vacancy up top, one which the Clarets have managed to fill.
They have essentially replaced a giant striker with another, that man being Dutchman Wout Weghorst.
The former Wolfsburg man joined Burnley with a reported fee of £12m.
His announcement video posted on the club’s social account was certainly impressive and drew a lot of attention from fans on Twitter.
Burnley’s social media team opted to take inspiration from the classic Sci-fi film Jurassic Park.
They borrowed the scene in which a family in a vehicle are terrified upon spotting a giant dinosaur.
The scene remains essentially the same, but the towering prehistoric reptiles are replaced by Burnley’s newly acquired giant.
Wout stands at a remarkable 6ft 6in and is sure to terrorize his markers much like the dinosaur in the film.
The final shot of the scene originally showed the massive reptile’s roar, but in this case, it gave fans their first look at the Dutchman in Claret.

Users on Twitter unanimously praised the video and many even called it one of the announcement videos of all time.
“What’s the idea for my announcement video?”

“Right so Wout… you know how you’re really tall?” https://t.co/7Kop78T8oN
I'm not sure what's more impressive, this announcement video or the fact Burnley have replaced Chris Wood with Wout Weghorst & made £13m in the process! 😳#BFC #twitterclarets https://t.co/h9mMxnhsZ6

No one will say but to come up with this idea and conceptualise it in a January window is just brilliant. Great work from whoever came up with it. https://t.co/8gyNjlPXwo

Burnley embracing old world charm and nostalgia. Love it. Far better than the NUFC announcement imo. https://t.co/Zl9hZxxhzI

Hopefully, for Burnley the transfer offers a similar result as well, the Clarets are currently rock bottom on the table and 4 points away from safety.
