The Merseyside Reds returned to their rampant ways in the Premier League and kept by slim title hopes alive by notching up a 2-0 victory against Leicester City.
Aside from a few goal scares, Liverpool were largely comfortable throughout the encounter.
Also making a return was Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara after recovering from a hip injury he suffered in December.
And the Spaniard certainly was not short of effort on his return. Right from the get-go, he looked eager to get into the thick of things.
Usually envisioned as a midfielder orchestrator, he’s known for spreading out delicate passes all over the pitch, and also for producing incisive passes when required.
On his return, Thiago looked simply hungry, pressing high into the attacking thirds and putting in plenty of leg work.
His passionate return is personified with this moment in which he tries something truly outrageous in almost impossible circumstances.
The ball fell inviting at the edge of Leicester’s box, Thiago, despite facing away from goal, took the leap and executed an overhead kick, which nearly crept into Kasper Schmeichel’s goal.
Had the incredible effort crept in, it would have certainly been a howler and an early Puskas contender.
Nonetheless, the moment showcases Thiago’s wonderful technique and also his determined approach throughout the game.
And if the Reds are to mount any sort of title charge, they will surely need the Spaniard to stay fit and continued performing similarly.
Have a look at how Twitter reacted to Thiago’s audacious attempt –
No way I witnessed Thiago Alcântara attempting a bicycle kick from 20 yards 😭

Didn't know I needed to see Thiago attempt a bicycle kick from outside the penalty box, but here we are.
