Following much criticism from fans for their lack of activity in the recent transfer windows, Liverpool finally brought in a new recruit in the form of Luiz Diaz.
The Colombian international made his switch from FC Porto in the summer and initial signs suggest that the Anfield faithful will not need much time in getting behind the player.
With AFCON winner Sadio Mane needing rest, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp chose to start Diaz in the attack against Leicester City on Friday.
The forward impressed the home crowd with his energy and flair on the ball against a lacklustre Leicester. Despite not scoring, Diaz was clinical with his end product, having had 2 shots on target out of a total of 4. He also had a passing accuracy of 93%, the most by any player on the pitch during the game.
As both Salah and Mane nearing 30, with additions such as Diogo Jota and Diaz himself Liverpool fans are surely liking how their future frontline is shaping up.
Having made just two appearances for the Merseyside club, Diaz already has chant made about him.

Here’s how it goes:
“We signed a lad from FC Porto,
And when he scores he dances with Diogo,
He plays with Mane, Salah and Firmino,
Oh Luis Diaz sends us f*cking loco,
Ohhh Luis Diaz, Ohhh Luis Diaz”
The appearance of Salah, Mane and Firmino in this chant is unsurprising but it’s the reference to his potential celebration with Diogo Jota that surely suggests that the fans are expecting him and Diaz to form a partnership on the pitch.
In true South American fashion, his flamboyance on the ball too would be something the fans love to feast their eyes on while they roll out this new chant from the Kop end.
