Drake gave Team Canada a standing ovation during World Cup qualification party

The scenes at the BMO Field on Sunday were simply unforgettable, especially for a nation that has waited so eagerly to return to the grandest stage again.

Right before full time, the flags came out and a venue filled with Canucks burst into a chorus of ‘O Canada’.

Then the whistle rang, and deafening noise followed.

John Herdman and his staff raided the field, as many of those in Red dropped to their knees in ecstasy and disbelief.

It was official, Canada were finally returning to the World Cup, and the celebrations were emphatic.

However, they didn’t end there and details have now emerged of the celebrations that followed after the initial revelry at the Stadium concluded.

As per reports, the Maple Leafs exited the venue and headed straight for their hotel.

Soon, they departed for their next destination, ‘Harbour 60’, a high-end downtown Toronto steakhouse.

They were received by standing ovations from the patrons there, including Canadian rapper Drake.

The ‘Six God’ looks to be a regular at the steakhouse, going by his social media, and his presence on the occasion would’ve certainly been a welcome surprise for the National team.

This wasn’t the first time the rapper commended a fellow Canadian for their football achievements, as Drake famously congratulated Alphonso Davies for his UCL triumph with Bayern Munich.

It’s safe to assume that the event was captured in a few pictures, here’s to hoping that the ‘Drake curse’ doesn’t grab ahold of the National team.
