Adding to the series of kit leaks popping up as of late is the accidental reveal of Bayern Munich‘s home, away and third kits. The leak occurred due to an accidental listing on the Adidas website, it was swiftly removed, but images of the kits had already travelled far and wide on the Internet.
The Bavarian’s home kit features a significant twist due to the introduction of stripes.
While the other two have been received largely positively, the response towards the home kit has been lukewarm so far.
Designed by sportswear brand Adidas, the kit is built around their ‘Aeroweave’ template. The traditional colours are of course retained, as red and white feature predominantly across the shirt.
Additionally, a ‘barcode stripe’ design takes centre stage, realized by integrating white threads into the fabric. They run horizontally, and vary in definition, as some appear thicker while some are slender in shape.
The club motto ‘Mia San Mia’ is denoted at the back of the shirt. As per usual, the classic 3 stripes are displayed on the sleeves. The sponsor logos go all white, rounding off the look.
Many fans online likened the look to Bayern’s 17/18 season home kit, which featured a vertical strip.
And while some responded positively to the addition, others were less welcoming.
There appeared to be no definitive reason for fans’ dislike of the look, perhaps stripes are an acquired taste in this case.

Nevertheless, an eye test can always sway opinion, and fans will receive it soon as Bayern will don the new kit during their game against Stuttgart on May 8th.
