Why Thomas Muller wore 95-97 home kit to announce Bayern contract extension

Bayern Munich, Thomas Muller

Thomas Muller has been a stalwart presence at Bayern Munich for more than 2 decades.

The German joined Bayern’s academy aged 10 back in 2000, beginning his rise towards becoming a club legend.

But his association with the Bavarians began long before that, as a young Muller grew up as a Bayern Munich fan.

With a historic 10th Bundesliga title in the bag for the 32-year-old, the club decided to renew Muller’s contract for another year.

A beloved figure amongst the Bayern faithful, his extension was good news for all fans, and the announcement was simply brilliant.

Hammering in his status as a ‘one club man’, the announcement showcased an incredible picture of a young Muller in his childhood room.

Walls are adorned with posters of Bayern stars and young Muller can be seen sporting the classic 95/97 Bayern kit that featured Opel as sponsors.

The wonderful picture is paired alongside a modern recreation, aged 32 Thomas sits in that very room, dons the same gorgeous Adidas kit and reaffirms his love for Bayern Munich.

The attention to detail is spot on across the board, including the placement of a solitary water bottle near the foot of the bed.

Carrying along the same theme, instead of looking through the pictures of Bayern greats from before, Muller flicks through and recounts the many iconic moments accredited to him.

The image really displays how life has come full circle for the Bavarian icon and provides inspiration for all the young dreamers out there.
