Led by Jose Mourinho, Roma lifted the inaugural UEFA European Conference League after holding onto a 1-0 lead for the full 90 against Feyenoord.
Their first European title since 1961 was won on the back of a solitary goal from Nicolo Zaniolo, and some stubborn defending at the back.
After the full-time whistle, the bench went berserk, Mourinho shed tears, and the Gialrossi on the field began to celebrate.
However, the delightful scenes appeared to take a sour note as defender Gianluca Mancini tussled with teammate Bryan Cristante.
As seen in this clip, the two embrace for a second before Mancini bowed out and lands a blow on his teammate.
The bizarre actions didn’t end there as he then lashed out at teenage forward Felix Afena-Gyan. When the teenager stood next to him, he flicked him off with a shove, before following it up with a punch.
Naturally, fans online were puzzled and enraged at his actions.
However, Afena-Gyan soon clarified the clip, stating no malice was involved.
The 19-year-old said, “It wasn’t serious. We joke and fight at the same. That’s how he is. It’s normal, nothing serious.”
His clarification was backed up by images of the pair celebrating together, disproving claims made by fans.
Furthermore, claims of Mancini disrupting team harmony were dispelled as well, as the 26-year-old was seen celebrating in fervid fashion.
A prime example is this clip, in which the defender is seen lifting up his gaffer and making a beeline toward the fans.
Mancini clearly is unapologetically passionate, and he certainly celebrated his heart out.
For anyone asking: I’m Italian, Gianluca Mancini is always like that, crazy CRAZY guy. So we there is no explanation for this attitude, he is like that that’s all 🤣
