Liverpool winger Luis Diaz shows off dramatic hair transformation

Liverpool, Luis Diaz

The brief period between seasons is the only time football players get to relax. After the season he has had, Luis Diaz deserves one.

Having joined Liverpool in the winter transfer window, the player was immediately involved in the challenge for all 4 trophies. While the team only won 2 domestic cups, fans are impressed by Diaz from what they have seen.

During the post-season break, the Colombian forward has got himself a new trim which has caught the attention of fans on social media. The reactions have been varied, to say the least.

Some fans think he looks like a character from the popular game Grand Theft Auto. Others have pointed out the similarity between Diaz’s new haircut and how Roberto Firmino styles himself.

The haircut does look similar to the trim sported by the Brazilian forward. However, this should not come as a surprise to fans. In February of this year, Diaz highlighted how Firmino recommended his hairstylists to the former Porto forward.

Next season the forwards will be looking forward to not only sharing barbers but also more trophies together. With Sadio Mane looking to leave, Luis Diaz will bear more responsibility as a part of Liverpool’s front three.

While haircuts are primarily for a player’s aesthetic satisfaction, they often coincide with a player improving in form. Chelsea player of the season Mason Mount had his best run of form when he donned a new haircut.

All this might be superstition, but superstition has a part to play in the sport. Diaz and co. will be needing all the help they can to challenge for the quadruple again next year, with other teams reinforcing their squads as well.
