Jesse Lingard’s Linkup with Neymar has Everyone Saying the Same Thing

Jesse Lingard is currently on holiday after announcing his exit from Manchester United. The Englishman ended a two-decade-long journey at the club he joined at the age of 7. He leaves the club after having made over 200 appearances for them and helping them win the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and UEFA Europa League titles.

While Lingard’s future is still uncertain, he is certainly not that bothered about what lies ahead. After not being named in the England squad for the UEFA Nations League matches, Jesse has just been having fun travelling around the world and enjoying himself in the last few weeks.

Lingard is clearly making good use of the free time he is getting before officially becoming a free agent in July. The Englishman posted a picture on Wednesday of him hanging out with PSG star Neymar on his holiday.

This has seemingly gotten fans speculating about whether Lingard asked Neymar about the weather when the duo met. Even West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice got involved with a comment on Instagram.

The context behind ‘yo Neymar it’s sunny init’ comment

Some fans are recalling a major throwback to an interaction between Lingard and Marcus Rashford back in 2018.

During an episode of ‘roommates’ in which each player had to guess questions about the other’s personal choices, Jesse was made to answer what Rashford and Neymar talked about in the tunnel at Wembley during a game between Brazil and England in 2017.

It was during this period that Lingard got annoyed when Marcus hinted they talked about the weather. Jesse, who was clearly in disbelief at the nonchalance from Rashford, said “so you’re like Neymar ‘good yeah sunny innit?’”, which has become a meme among football fans ever since.

Lingard is clearly having a lot of fun during his time off on holiday. But, he will soon become focused on making a decision on which club he wants to join next. With multiple clubs vying for his services, a move to the Hammers looks most likely on the cards.
