After much anticipation since the deal was agreed on Monday, Liverpool announced their latest attacking recruit in Darwin Nunez who has been signed from Benfica for a club-record fee of €100m (including add-ons). They followed the big-money deal up with an announcement video that matched the size of the promising signing.
The video featured drone footage capturing Liverpool’s training facility in Melwood which also houses the club’s trophies and achievements and ended with revealing the Uruguayan striker in the club’s brand new home kit for the upcoming season.
While fans would have been surely excited to see Nunez in the kit, it looks like a lucky few were also able to catch the striker arriving at Melwood in the flesh to complete the move on Tuesday. The striker was spotted rolling up to the training complex with his entourage in some style.
While the player chose to go with a simple white T-shirt and black bottom that would be a convenient fit for the medical test, he did astound football fans by sporting a gold-plated limited-edition Rolex watch alongside a similar gold-plated Apple iPhone.
The watch seems to be a two-tone Wimbledon dial Rolex model, a part of the Wimbledon collection released by Rolex along with tennis star and Rolex ambassador Roger Federer that Nunez was accessorised for his look on Tuesday. The striker was seen clutching the iPhone in his hand nonchalantly along with a glass of Mate, the caffeinated drink that is so popular amongst South American footballers.
After he scored against Liverpool earlier this season with his impressive performance for Benfica, Nunez has surely now found favour with Liverpool fans with his fashion choices as well.
With Nunez having impressed his new fans now both on and off the pitch, they would be looking forward to seeing the Uruguayan in action and linking up with his new attacking partners in Mo Salah and Luis Diaz.
